Complex research landscape
The new research building integrates three closely linked research groups: microsystems technology, experimental neurotechnology and robotics. Together with the future new buildings, the new IMBIT building forms an ensemble of a clearly legible composition of buildings, which thrives from their diversity. The new research building surrounds a quiet, green courtyard and opens into an inviting foyer at the main entrance. Above the foyer, in a central location in the building, the communal area emerges.

Directly at the entrance are the boardroom foyer, which can also be used for exhibitions, the open main staircase orientated towards the courtyard, and the lift. Above the foyer on the 1st floor is the central common area. The open air space on the steps, the visual opening to the outside space and to the courtyard, creates good orientation and produces the framework for informal meeting and communication. The entrances to all departments are located in the stairway hall – with good recognition.
